Since 1926, Minneapolis Ski Jumping Club has been teaching kids to fly.
Ski Jumping Program
Recreational Jumping
Our starter jumps are modernized from top to bottom featuring safe, modern flight profiles, safety fencing systems, convenient stairs and pathways, plus efficient LED stadium lighting.
We offer regular weekly class schedules for those interested in learning to fly. Our local recreation program accommodates those who have goals to someday try to fly off the large hill, or kids and adults who want to participate in a fun sport to get outside, or even those who just want to check a new activity off their bucket list!
Our class offerings include sport-specific skis and equipment plus an experienced and well-trained coaching staff to help every skier learn the basics and have some fun.
We have a group of talented coaches to help skiers learn the fundamentals of jumping and safely progress from one size hill to the next.
The Mpls Ski Club is the perfect place to try ski jumping for the first time or hone your skills at Olympic-caliber facilities.
Winter and Summer Jumping
Yes, you can jump without snow! Starter jumps have been fully outfitted with a surface that enables ski jumping practice and competitions in the summer months as well! Ditch the cold weather gear – just add water and our padded landing surface is ready to ski! The club is currently working toward adding a similar year-round surface to the large hill.
Spectator Events
Thousands of spectators flock to the Mpls Ski Club facility every year to watch ski jumpers from all around compete in large scale tournaments. Follow us on social media to learn about the next event!
Competitive Travel Program
The largest hill is widely regarded as one of the best hills for its size around the world. Skiers have the ability to fly nearly 300’ from our monument ski jump.
The competitive program has a rich legacy of helping aspiring athletes pursue their Olympic dreams. Our recreational team has roots in learning proper technique that enables the ideal progression from novice to elite jumper.

Each of our class sessions start with equipment fitting and an introduction to the basics of ski jumping in the chalet as other skiers get prepared.
Next we warm up on flat ground working on ski jumping positions and playing ski games/drills. This is a great chance to get used to these massive ski jumping skis! As skiers perfect their form on the flat, we progress to the first slope without a built-in jump, kind of like a bunny hill. By the end of the class, capable skiers will move over and tesout our smallest jump which we call “the 8 meter” where skiers could fly as far as 30 feet! -
Skiers must be 5 years old to sign up.
